Even from a distance, you are able to catch sight of the 11 m tall candle right on the lakeshore of St. Gilgen on Lake Wolfgangsee. More than 50 big candles bathe the Baroque Advent market in an incomparable light, while lovingly decorated market stands – given a Baroque touch by artist Raja Schwahn Reichmann – are all well worth a visit.

During the Christmas season, Strobl transforms itself into a romantic village of Nativity scenes, while the so-called “Shepherd’s Path” leads the way through the idyllic village to the big Advent Gate. The 30 market stands, covered with real wooden shingles, conjure up a traditional, festive Advent atmosphere. In addition to arts & crafts and all kinds of gift ideas, visitors are also treated to a wide array of regional culinary specialties.

The atmosphere of Advent is palpable everywhere here. The idyllically decorated road of lanterns leads through St. Wolfgang and makes your every wish come true. The entry to the markets is for free.
Children up to the completed age of 4 for whom no seat is required, will be transported at no charge. Children ages 4 to 14 receive the discounted rate.
The family price is valid for 2 adults and their own children.
The discounted family price is granted to families, who are owning an Austrian family card (Österreichische Familienkarte) or a Salzkammergut Erlebnis-Card.
The family "light" price is valid for 1 adult and his/her own children.
The discounted family "light" price is granted to families, who are owning an Austrian family card (Österreichische Familienkarte) or a Salzkammergut Erlebnis-Card.
The group price is valid for groups of 10 or more.
The discounted prices are valid for owners of a Salzkammergut Erlebnis Card.
